Salt & Sand was built with together-time in mind — and enough elbow room when you need a break from all that togetherness. The reverse floor plan puts the views where they belong: front and center. The top floor features an open kitchen, dining, and living space with ocean views that make you forget all about to-do lists. You’ll find a full kitchen for pancake mornings, seafood feasts, and late-night snacks. The cozy living area has a Smart TV, comfy seating, and direct deck access — perfect for catching a sunrise or soaking in the 3-season hot tub under the stars. Bedrooms include a king suite with private bath, two queen rooms, and two bunk rooms with a twin-over-full bunk for the kids or young at heart. There’s fast Wi-Fi if you must check in with the real world, and a washer/dryer, outdoor shower, and plenty of hangout space when the beach towels start to pile up.

=Quick Clean-Up Checklist= Load dirty dishes into the dishwasher. Toss the used towels in the bathroom. Either strip the beds or leave them unmade—we’ll take it from there. Trash days are Monday & Thursday nights: ➤ Roll cans to the driveway's edge (wheels facing the house). ➤ Please do not overstuff, put stuff on top of the closed lid, or on the ground (the cans are emptied by machine, and may not be emptied). ➤ Please return the cans after pickup. =Specific Callouts= NO fireworks allowed or used on the property NO unregistered guests or pets NO house parties NO propane grills =House Stuff= Keep doors and windows closed to keep cool air in and bugs out. The cargo lift is not for guest use. Please don’t use it. Be gentle with furniture and décor—this is a family home, not a frat house. =Hot Tub Etiquette= Rinse off before you hop in—salt, sand & sunscreen clog things up! It’s cleaned on Wednesdays & Saturdays. No Glass containers in or around the hot tub Keep the cover on when not in use to maintain heat and keep debris out. Fees for hot tub violations: ➤ $100 for excess cleaning ➤ $500 for damaged or mishandled cover (they’re *shockingly* expensive!) =Pet Parents, We See You!= No cats, please. There may be an extra cleaning fee for excessive shedding—brush before beach zoomies! We recommend kenneling pets if you're out exploring for long stretches. ➤Outside, leashes are required at all times in Rodanthe. ➤Always scoop the poop, whether at the beach or using the covered dog run, and bring water to keep those tails wagging. Avoid hot midday sand, as paws can burn. Stay on walkways and don’t leave huge dug holes (sea turtles and clumsy humans say thanks!). =Beach Reminders= No overnight gear—chairs, tents, toys must be off the beach by **8 PM** or Dare County will remove them. ➤Quiet hours are from 10 PM to 8 AM sound carries over the ocean like gossip at brunch. --- Thanks for treating Salt & Sand like your home! We want your stay at Salt & Sand to be effortless — just a few friendly reminders to keep things smooth: Guests have access to the whole house except for: the supply, linen, and utility closets. The cargo lift is not for guest use — we know it’s tempting, but it’s strictly for owner access only. Please bring your own beach towels and chairs— we’ve got your bath needs covered, but beach towels and chairs are BYO. Hot tub etiquette matters — we ask guests to follow posted guidelines. Excessive cleaning fees may apply if it’s... well, less than relaxing afterward. Dog lovers, you’re welcome! We allow up to 2 well-behaved dogs (no cats, sorry!). Please follow pet guidelines — extra cleaning fees apply if things get a little too wild. Quiet hours are from 10 PM to 8 AM – let’s all enjoy the sound of the waves, not each other’s karaoke. Please consider trip insurance when booking, especially when booking during hurricane season– storms can happen here in the Outer Banks. It’s always smart to protect your plans.
